Born in Chicago,and raised in La Union,
New Mexico, Marghreta Cordero
began painting and drawing at the age of seven. A life-long singer
and
performer, she pursued formal training in music composition and
continued her studies in painting and stone sculpture. After touring
Europe, Japan, Mexico in the mid 90’s as a singer and most
recently
Greece, Cordero has returned to Galisteo where she has lived on
and
off since 1978. This also marks the year she began sculpting alabaster
and marble pieces which have been exhibited on Canyon Road in Santa
Fe, New Mexico and through the years she has established a private
clientele. Recently voted Best Female vocalist 2009 in the Santa
Fe
Reporter's Best of Santa Fe, she can be heard locally performing
with
her various Latin music groups. Her stage moniker is Nacha Mendez. |
