| Both the Maternal and Paternal lines
of the Pena y Chavez family are deeply rooted in Galisteo. Casa
de Las Tias is the 200+ year old Chavez hacienda so named in honor
of the Tias (aunts) of my Grandfather, Catalino Chavez, who raised
he and his siblings there in the early 1900's. The legacy that
our family has inherited from our ancestors is one of faith, love,
and an artistic sensibility resulting from generations of hard
work, craftsmanship and ingenuity. Our family invites you to
experience the variety of artistic expressions created by various
family members, which includes sterling and semi-precious beadwork,
mixed- media collage and painting, photography, hand-crafted woodwork,
traditional New Mexican baked goods, and more. |
