I finally moved to Galisteo last
June after living in Santa Fe for the past 25 years. A
16-year career with wild dolphins and whales kept me in the Bahamas
a lot of the time but my love for New Mexico made it impossible
to leave for very long.
I’ve been illustrating children’s books for the
last 2 years and wrote/illustrated my own book called Canine
Kitchen last Spring. I love painting on wood so I
began painting some of my book characters on scraps of found
wood. Some of the wood has been shaped into retablo forms
and some are left uneven. I like the natural feel of them and
it seems to suit the animal and angel themes.
I paint custom retablos or trays of favorite pets or dog breeds
and am painting a series of watercolor greeting cards for a client
in New York.
Rebecca’s Table is a catering service I provide
with home delivery to Santa Fe residents. This year I’ll
be offering vegetarian cuisine at my home for the Galisteo Studio
Tour along with the paintings. |
