For
thirty years Barbara lived and worked along
the New England seacoast. Her
work was
influenced by and, in turn, reflected that natural coastal
beauty. Now
in a
new studio in Galisteo,
She embarks
on a whole new adventure in clay while immersed in another
spectacular landscape.
Barbara
works with high fire porcelain and stoneware clays. The
limited edition and one-of-a-kind functional ware is fired
in a gas reduction atmosphere which encourages development
of earth tones and subtle color variations in her glazes.
After
graduating from the University of Wisconsin
in Art Education, and Massachusetts College of Art
with a Masters degree, Barbara taught art for twenty
years. For thirty
years, with another potter friend, she operated Ocmulgee
Pottery--a studio, school, and fine crafts gallery in
Ipswich, Massachusetts.
Barbara’s
work has been exhibited in craft
galleries and museums, and is extensively represented in
private collections. |
