I have always been fascinated by hand made and hand decorated
textiles. My mother taught me crewel embroidery when I was five.
I am self-taught in crochet, needlepoint, and knitting.
Upon leaving Manhattan in 1984 my husband and I bought a sheep
farm in New Hampshire where I learned to spin, dye, and weave.
In New Mexico I learned colcha embroidery, and acquired a Spanish
walking loom.
I am enchanted by colors, especially the saturated colors of
New Mexico. I try to incorporate these colors into my work. All
of my bags are hand-knit after which I sometimes add buttons,
leather or other decorative effects.
