| I've been making jewelry and fascinated
with stones since I was a child. I've had shows in New York, Los
Angeles, and sold in haute couture boutiques in major cities. The
parts are all vintage and have all been gathered over the past
20-30 years from extensive travel (China, Afghanistan, India, Europe
and Asia), flea markets and auctions. I use Victorian era pieces,
beads and parts from the 1920's - 1940's and pieces that I feel
have mythic, symbolic and talismanic qualities. The semi-precious
stones are chosen with regard to the lore and properties of each
type of stone. Each piece is hand knotted with great care and good
wishes for the wearer. I do the knotting as a meditation, and my
intention with my jewelry is to create wearable touchstones, reminders
of beauty, strength, brilliance and joy. |
